I went out as usual to get lunch for myself and my boss. The crowd I usually go with, decided to go to another, quite-far-from-our workplace mall (Al Faisaliah). Since I have not been there for many, many months now, I was to see new additions to the food court at the third level of the mall. One of them is lunch BOX. It offers sandwiches which look like the healthy kind of sandwiches. In purple see-through boxes to boot.
After scanning what were on offer, I dutifully opted for a shrimp cocktail sandwich for me and a turkey club for my boss. As the attendant was preparing my items, I was pleasantly surprised to see him put the sandwich boxes into another but bigger box instead of the usual plastic or paper bag. Indeed, the packaging was so novel that I just had to take some shots and share them with you.
It must have added a few riyals to the price of the sandwiches (which were SR15 for the turkey and SR18 for the shrimp, respectively) but I enjoyed the rare packaging immensely. (I enjoyed my sandwich too but I am a shrimp-lover, so it was not difficult to enjoy the cocktail, he he.)
I hope you do too!
On another but related dining experience, Dennis and I chanced upon two nights ago this fast food joint that offered sandwiches and desserts in crepe. The joint was called Ichi-pan. Quite obviously a Japanese import to Saudi. The sandwiches were quite good and once again, a novel taste for our buds so used to eating shawarma sandwiches. The crepe desserts were nothing new of course but they tasted good just the same. Unfortunately, I don’t have photos to back me up this time.
And on this note, I bid you bon weekend! Hope to be back to blogging on Saturday.
Ciao, for now.
